The first meeting of the Junior Book Club will take place this Tuesday September 10th at 4.05 pm in the school library (Rm. 17). The MEC Junior Book Club is now open to all 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students. Any student who wishes to be involved can come along and join our enthusiastic book chats. It does not matter what your reading ability level is and we welcome everyone! The first discussion will be on the 22nd of October on 'Skellig' by David Almond.
Other books which we will discuss this academic year are:
'The Maze Runner' by James Dashner
'The Surface Breaks' by Louise O'Neill
'Apple and Rain' by Sarah Crossan
Parents, we hope you can encourage your teens to attend book club and to read the variety of books on our list. Our trending book list also gives you a good idea of what books are popular for Young Adult readers at the moment. Junior Book Club reads are also counted as ‘Reading Passport’ stamps from your English teacher.
Enjoy reading ‘Skellig’ and see you on October 22nd
